One of the best international experiences you can have when traveling is to experience the local cuisine. Some travelers will point you to try the exotic and strange. We always say that if you want to know what life is like here, eat like a local. So that means finding some staples. In Costa Rica, that means trying foods like Gallo Pinto or Casado. The base for both these meals is beans and rice, but you’ll find that in whatever restaurant you order these in there are some differences. And all you need to do is find your favorite!
While Costa Rica is full of beauty, the country seems to be chock full of waterfalls specifically. From huge thundering falls, to cliff jumping, to ones that you can swim up to… there is no shortage of waterfalls. But some are a bit hard to find. If you want to explore a bit, we always recommend hiring a company or guide to help you find something off the beaten track.
Costa Rica may have been the country that started the zipline craze. Don’t quote us on that, but with the sheer about of ziplining tours that you can go on in the country, we think it’s true. But as amazing as the thrill of soaring over the tops of tropical trees is, once you get going there’s no turning back. Ziplining is a pretty fast way to experience this view, but it’s not the only way. You can also find a few aerial trams that give you more time to take in your surroundings.
