What The Health: Healthy & Fresh Options For All Lifestyles

July 10, 2020

healthy and fresh optionsWith July comes ocean waves and waves of heat, juices in the morning that taste like beet, and focusing more on how we look and feel because #summer2020 isn’t canceled just yet and, even if it was, being healthy is neat. Every”body” deserves healthy options!

Once again, Summer is here!  Over the past couple of years Redlands Ranch Market has finally decided to get (and keep) its summer body ready!  Since 1996 the marketplace has been seen scarfing down banana bread in the early mornings, snacking on tortilla chips throughout the day, and devouring menudo by the pot-loads in the wee hours of the night. What can we say…we had really expanded over the years.

But with our juices and smoothies, acai bowls, fresh fruit, and keto-friendly desserts, Redlands Ranch Market is setting everyone up for summer-body success. We have the healthiest and freshest options in the Inland Empire and we’re only looking forward to more.

Let’s consider the healthy and fresh options the marketplace offers in addition to how we can plan our #healthy2020summer this year. Regardless of government-administered limitations and restrictive world conditions, no quarantine or curfew should stop us from actively pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Snacking is nice, but looking like a snack is even better. Let’s consider some summer essentials and how the fresh options we offer can benefit us this summer.

Setting Your 2020 Summer For Health Success

Willpower. The word that comes to many people’s minds when planning out health goals. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle could be challenging particularly because the brain likes to play games. Our brain has this wonderful way of convincing us 3 hours into our health journey that 10 pieces of fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy isn’t actually so bad after all. Or that fried Oreos are healthy fats and getting a vanilla latte with extra, extra, extra pumps of caramel and a dollop of whip cream is basically like drinking sweetened water.

But the reality is that when it comes to one’s health, it’s important to create a game plan that is equally practical as it is malleable. Saying you’re going to eat three 200-calorie salads every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner over the course of a month to increase your health probably isn’t practical, especially if you hate salads and have never made such a commitment before.

This article on Healthline highlights this advice in their first and fourth suggestions to successfully stick to a healthy diet. “Start with realistic expectations don’t have an ‘all or nothing’ approach,” the article says.

Eating too little of a healthy thing all the time or eating too much of an unhealthy thing in one sitting might not be the best approach. Remember that on the road to health, it’s all about balance. If you’re hungry, eat. But be mindful of what you eat. Make it your aim to substitute granola for fried Oreos. Swap out the mashed potatoes and gravy for baked potato (or sweep potato) wedges. Drink a lot of water to compensate for any cravings or opt for a fresh smoothie, which takes us right into our first health option offered at Redlands Ranch Market.

Juices, Smoothies, and Acai Bowls

So, it’s been 3 days and you’re still craving that vanilla latte with extra, extra, extra pumps of caramel and a dollop of whip cream. You already drank water and your taste buds are demanding something sweet and cool A.S.A.P. Thankfully, juices and smoothies exist.  Stop by……or order and pay online (online link here) and we’ll have it ready for convenient pick up to get you on your healthy way!

Fruits and vegetables have their benefits and that refreshing drink made from fruits and vegetables that have been pureed to silk smoothness in a blender is a great option to implement into your diet. And making a smoothie is as simple as running to your favorite marketplace, picking up your fresh produce of choice and tossing it all into a blender with some ice and liquid of choice, sometimes you just want the option to grab-n-go.

Did you know Redlands Ranch Market makes grab n’ go juices in-house?  Not only are we proud to offer this juice bar in the Inland Empire, but our juices and smoothies are packed with nutritious vitamins and mouth-watering flavor! We have our own spin on acai bowls. Out of all the acai bowl joints in the Inland Empire, we believe ours is the creamiest!

Fresh Fruits

We won’t deny that we’re crazy about fresh produce, particularly fresh fruits and vegetables. Of course we’re going to say that we have the freshest fruit and vegetables in Redlands because we like our fruits to be in-season so they’re sweet according to Nature’s perfect timing. The fruit we use in our bowls, platters, and cups is cut fresh daily for flavor and freshness.

Summer months boast watermelon and mangoes for those perfect snacks, barbeque sides, or healthy desserts and throughout the year, we offer a wide selection of fruits and vegetables to satisfy any grocery list, health plan, or summer body goal.

If you’re looking for a quick, pre-made snack, stop by the marketplace for a pre-cut and packed fruit cup, also ideal for those who want to grab and go. We understand that just because it’s summertime and just because social gatherings are limited, life still doesn’t slow down.

Keto-Friendly Desserts

Our same friends over at Healthline give a brief explanation of what it means to be keto-friendly, or ketogenic. “The ketogenic diet is a low-carb, high-fat diet” so it’s designed for a person to get more calories from protein and fat and less from carbohydrates.

If you’re looking for where to find keto-friendly options in the Inland Empire, let’s chat for a second or two. Our bakery department bakes cinnamon cookies, blueberry muffins, lemon pound cakes and cake bars, tres leches cakes, carrot cake, and cheesecake. We also carry a white chocolate coconut shake and a butter coffee shake to keep your taste buds happy while keeping you energized!

Lettuce Help You Do Healthy Right

While there’s nothing wrong with eating all the goodies, we still believe that when it comes to our diet, modesty is key and balance is necessary. That’s why we’re reclaiming our health (during the week, at least…on the weekends we eat menudo (maybe by the bowl, not pot)).

Stop by the marketplace today! We open at 7am and close at 10pm. We hope our suggestions in this article and our selection of healthy food options can help you during your journey to a healthier you. Summer 2020…we’ve never felt more prepared for you than now!
